Departments
The Young Vic staff work in a number of different departments, fulfilling a variety of roles.
Marketing & Sales
Our marketing team produce flyers, posters, programmes and advertising for productions, while our sales team handle our audience's ticket bookings and information requests. The team also work to profile the Young Vic audience to improve targeted communication and audience development.
Press & PR
The Young Vic is a leading theatre in the UK and, therefore, is of great interest to the media. Our Press & PR team liaise with and promote our work within the media.
Finance
We receive money from the government via the Arts Council, from our ticket sales and from our fundraising activities. Our finance team play a central role in handling income and expenditure, and ensuring the theatre can efficiently and effectively create the productions for which we are renowned.
Development
Each year our development team raise about one third of the money we need for our shows and other work through sponsorship, individual gifts and events. They have, of course, also led our campaign to raise the 12.5 million we required to rebuild our new theatre!
Administration
The Young Vic is a busy, fast moving organisation and we have a number of administrative staff who keep us on the 'straight and narrow', ensuring our operation is efficient, effective and leading the way in modern arts management.
Front of House
We have a large team of staff who look after the performances and the public who visit us. They are largely casual and part-time staff led by our permanent Theatre Management team, who ensure the safe and efficient operation of our building.
Production
Our team of technicians, electricians, carpenters and stage managers physically produce the plays we put on. They create the sets, lights, costumes and sound, and work with the freelance actors, directors and designers to make the show happen.
Teaching, Participation & Research
Through the work of the TPR team we extend the experience of theatre into the lives of thousands of young people and local residents who might otherwise miss out, using workshops, holiday projects, and training opportunities. TPR also work with a network of over 300 directors in varying stages of their careers, helping develop their craft and skills through our Young Directors Programme.
