Funded Ticket Scheme

We believe everyone should have access to theatre no matter what their financial circumstances. The Funded Ticket Scheme ensures that our productions are seen by the widest possible audience.

Ten percent of tickets for all our shows, whether in the main auditorium or one of our studio theatres, are distributed free of charge or subsidised to local schools, groups, teachers and young people. Emphasis is on those who have never been to theatre before or could only engage with live theatre through such schemes. Because the work the Young Vic produces is so varied, through the Scheme young people can experience a wide spectrum of theatre, from musicals to new writing to the classics of theatre repertoire. As a result, we believe it broadens students’ horizons and teachers’ expectations. To make sure their experience is complete, we provide each participant with a free ice-cream!

Tickets are distributed predominantly in Lambeth and Southwark, but in recent years we have extended the Scheme to other south London boroughs, including Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Lewisham, Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth.
