Teachers' programme

To enhance young people’s understanding and experience of the Young Vic’s productions and theatre generally, teachers are provided with the following support:

• Resource packs to accompany productions containing extensive background material on the plays, information about the rehearsal process, interviews with actors and production teams, designs, drawings and exercises.

• Teachers' evening and forums where they are provided with funded tickets to see productions as preparation for bringing their students or for their own professional development; the opportunity to meet with Young Vic staff and creative teams from our productions; and the opportunity to feedback their thoughts and ideas on the programme’s activities. We obtain teachers’ feedback on our work and keep them informed of future projects.

• Teachers' workshops where they get the chance to meet theatre professionals and refresh their own drama skills. Past workshops have included sessions on practical issues such as blocking, devising and lighting.
