The Young Vic is looking for a talented and experienced individual to be its new Director of Taking Part.

Our work with young people and communities has always been a major part of the Young Vic’s artistic life, and the successful candidate is expected to draw on the deep roots the department has in our local boroughs as well as drive innovation and best practice, raising the profile of the work and the community it serves.

The Taking Part department features significantly within the vision of Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah, and the theatre is seeking a highly collaborative candidate to lead and innovate the programme of work co-created with young people, artists, and the community. The ability to build successful relationships with those from a wide range of backgrounds and with a range of abilities is crucial.

With new strands of work being developed such as YV Unpacked, which focuses on taking high quality art outside the walls of the theatre to places where theatre doesn’t normally happen, this role is an extraordinary, creative opportunity that we hope will attract highly-motivated candidates.

Salary: £44,000-46,000 p.a.

Contract: Full Time. Permanent. Evening and weekend work will be required.
