The Young Vic is looking for a Head of Costume (Maternity Cover) to join our Production Department
A registered charity and theatrical powerhouse, the Young Vic is synonymous with innovation, inclusivity, accessibility and creativity. We create performances that catalyse debate and are priced accessibly for our audiences, giving 10% of tickets away to those who experience barriers to engaging with the arts. We are deeply rooted in our local communities of Lambeth and Southwark, through Taking Part, at the same time as being internationally recognised for productions made with the world’s finest performers and creative teams. This year we expanded our access and reach by launching Best Seat in the House, a new livestreaming platform that has broadcast our productions to over 38 countries. We are also proud of our work developing the next generation of emerging talent through our Creators Program
About the Role
The Head of Costume (Maternity Cover) is responsible for the Deputy Head of Costume and all Freelance and Casual Costume support staff including Costume and Wigs, Hair and Makeup supervisors, Show Running Teams and Production Technicians. Ensuring the delivery and management of costume requirements for Young Vic and elsewhere and contributing to the creation of the highest standards in all the theatre's producing work while actively promoting anti-racism.
We are looking for someone with an open, engaged and positive manner who has a good knowledge of all theatrical costume techniques relevant to the preperation and staging of high quality theatrical productions.

Salary: £41,200 per annum plus some overtime
Contract: Fixed Term contract for 12 Months
