The Second Woman is a bit different to our other shows, so we thought we'd help you with all the info you may need ahead of your visit.

There are two types of advanced tickets available:

24-HOUR TICKETS [SOLD OUT]

Your only way to guarantee the full 24-hour experience, from beginning to end.

  • Guaranteed entry at 4pm for the entire 24-hour experience.
  • You must arrive in time to be seated by 4pm on Fri 19 June when the performance begins.
  • Once you are seated at 4pm, you can choose to stay for the full 24-hours or leave whenever you wish.
  • If you choose to leave at any point during the show, other than for a bathroom break, you will have to re-join the Priority Queue and will be re-admitted at the earliest available opportunity.
  • If you leave the premises and want to return, your allocated wristband must be worn to help us identify your ticket type and you will have to re-join the Priority Queue.
  • Please note: latecomers will have to join the Priority Queue to be admitted.

ADVANCED TIMED TICKETS [SOLD OUT]

Or join us at one of the following time slots: 12am, 2am, 4am, 6am, 8am or 10am.

  • This ticket gives you priority entry at the time stated on your ticket.
  • You must arrive by the time stated on your ticket to join the Priority Queue.
  • You will be admitted into the performance at the earliest available opportunity dependant on your position in the Priority Queue, ahead of anyone in the Standby Queue.
  • Once you are seated, you can choose to stay until the performance ends at 4pm on Sat 20 June, or you can leave whenever you wish before that time.
  • If you choose to leave at any point during the show, other than for a bathroom break, you will have to re-join the Standby Queue and will be re-admitted when a seat becomes available.
  • If you leave the premises and want to return, your allocated wristband must be worn to help us identify your ticket type.
  • Please note: latecomers risk losing their time slot and will have to join the Standby Queue.

On the day:

ON THE DOORS TICKETS

Turn up throughout the performance to grab a £15 ticket.

  • Door tickets can be purchased in person at the Young Vic Box Office any time throughout the 24-hour performance on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • We cannot guarantee a specific entry time.
  • Ticketholders will be invited to join the Standby Queue and will be admitted at the earliest opportunity dependant on your position in the queue, as seats become available.
  • Once seated, you can choose to stay until the performance ends at 4pm on Sat 20 June, or you can leave whenever you wish before that time.
  • If you choose to leave at any point during the show, other than for a bathroom break, you will have to re-join the Standby Queue and will be re-admitted at the earliest available opportunity.
  • If you leave the premises and want to return, your allocated wristband must be worn to help us identify your ticket type.

  • How do I get tickets?

    GENERAL ON-SALE

    • 24 Hour Tickets and Advanced Time Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tue 10 March at 3pm. To book tickets during the general on-sale visit this page.
    • If you follow the booking link before the general on-sale time you will enter an online waiting room which will hold you until the on-sale.
    • When the general on-sale begins, you will be automatically assigned a random number in the online queue. The page will tell you where you are in the queue and an estimate of how long it will take for you to get through to our ticket pages.
  • I'm a Friend of the Young Vic, how do I access priority booking?

    PRIORITY BOOKING FOR YOUNG VIC SUPPORTERS

    A limited number of 24-Hour Tickets will be available to Young Vic members ahead of the general on-sale. If you're already a member here's how you can book during our priority period:

    • You will receive an email on Monday 9 March with your priority booking link, which will go live from 11.30am on Tuesday 10 March.
    • Following the link will take you to a waiting room, where you will be held until priority booking opens at 12 noon.
    • When booking opens, all members in the waiting room will be randomly allocated a place in the queue to buy tickets. It doesn’t matter when you enter the waiting room: you have the same chance of being at the front of the queue if you arrive at 11.59 as if you arrive at 11.30.
    • Once you’re in the queue, you will be able to see how many people are in front of you and how long it will take for you to get through to our ticketing pages.
    • You will need to be logged in to access priority booking, so we strongly recommend that you double check your login details before the priority booking period begins.

  • Can I buy a ticket on the door?

  • Can I share my ticket with a friend?

    Please note, tickets to The Second Woman cannot be shared. Each ticket can only be used by one individual.

  • Can I return or exchange my tickets?

    Where possible, subject to availability, advanced timed tickets may be exchanged for another time slot as long as they are returned to us at least 48 hours before the performance. 

    If you cannot use your ticket and wish to return it at least 48hs before the performance, in the case that we are able to sell the ticket on to another customer, we will issue you with a Young Vic credit voucher equal to the value of your ticket, which must be used within 180 days of issue. We cannot issue you with any credit if the ticket does not sell.

    Please note there is an admin charge of £1 per ticket for any exchanges and returns.

    We do not issue refunds.

  • Can I book my access tickets online?

    Due to the unique nature of this unreserved event and in order to ensure the best experience for access patrons, we are only able to sell access concessions over the phone to our Box Office: 020 7922 2922.

Once you're in the venue

  • What is the difference between the ‘Priority’ and the ‘Standby’ queues?

    Throughout the 24-hour performance there will be two queues for ticketholders to gain access into the auditorium.

    Priority Queue

    Our Priority Queue will only be available to audience members who have purchased a 24-Hour Ticket and those with Advanced Timed Tickets, as long as they join the queue at their specific time slot.

    Standby Queue

    The Standby Queue is for people who purchase On The Doors Tickets from the Box Office. Advanced Timed Ticket holders who have missed their time slot will be invited to join the Standby Queue.

  • What if I have a physical need or disability that makes it difficult for me to stand in line?

    We are able to accommodate audience members that require accessible entrances, seating or support. When you arrive, please find a member of the Welcome Team who will help you find seating, navigate the theatre and maintain your position in line.

  • How long should I expect to wait before entering the auditorium?

    • During our busiest times we may ask you to wait in line before gaining access to the auditorium.
    • We will be operating a one-in, one-out process during this period.
    • We expect our busiest times to be between 5pm - 9pm on Friday 19th and between 12pm - 4pm on Saturday 20th June.
    • We expect the shortest wait times to be between 12am - 6am on Saturday 20th June.
    • We will be posting expected wait times on Twitter (@YoungVicTheatre) throughout the performance.
  • Will there be food available at the theatre?

    Food will be supplied by The Cut bar throughout the performance. Please note that only a limited menu will be available between the hours of 1am and 8am.

  • Are there cloakroom facilities?

    There are no cloakroom facilities at the Young Vic. 

  • Will I be able to charge my phone?

    We will have a limited number of outlets available. Devices must be attended at all times.

During the performance

  • How long can I stay?

    Stay for 24 minutes or the full 24 hours, drop in once or return to see more—the choice is yours.

  • Are there any breaks in the performance?

    There will be a 15-minute break every two hours starting at 7pm throughout the 24-hour run.

  • What if I need to go to the toilet?

    You won’t have to wait to re-enter the queues after using the toilet. However, if you decide to go to the bar you will have to re-join the queue.

  • What if I leave the building for any reason: to get some fresh air, a cigarette break or I’m feeling sick?

    If you need to leave the premises, you will need to rejoin the Standby queue. You do not have to buy another ticket but your allocated wristband must be worn to help us identify your ticket type.

    If you’re feeling sick for any reason please alert a member of our Welcome Team who will be able to help you.

    If you need to go out for a cigarette please use our designated smoking area, you will need to get back in the Standby Queue.

  • Are food and drinks allowed in the auditorium?

    We want people to be able to fully immerse themselves in the show. Like other shows at the Young Vic, we will have a no food policy in the auditorium. All drinks will need to be in plastic cups available from the bar and on the doors.

    Complimentary water will be available from The Cut Bar throughout the performance.
