The Collective presents a Taking Part production from Young Vic

AiTopia

Directed by Michelle Payne

Preview Sat 25 Jan, 4pm

Tue 28 Jan – Sat 1 Feb, 7.45pm

The Maria Theatre

In an idyllic, self-governing community where the police have been defunded, the opportunity for an AI After Life promises peace, order and financial reward. But behind closed doors, five families are discovering that innovation has a price. As cracks begin to form and relationships are threatened, will AI help them move beyond their grief or threaten their humanity?

Step into the dystopian world of AiTopia, which examines the impact of our fast-changing technology on human relationships in this chillingly poignant thriller.

AiTopia is the first show from The Collective, a 50-strong cohort of multi-disciplinary artists from Southwark and Lambeth, led by director Michelle Payne. This latest, epic project from Taking Part disrupts traditional conventions of theatre-making, exploring new models centred on community and collaboration.
