Be part of the Young Vic’s 50th birthday celebration

By Ezequiel 6 Aug 2020

Young Vic images

This September will mark 50 years since the Young Vic opened its doors.

Although our productions continue to be postponed at present, we want to begin our 50th year by acknowledging the people at the heart of the theatre’s life who have made the Young Vic what it is – onstage, behind the scenes, front of house and in the local community.

We will be marking the beginning of this milestone year by projecting images of both productions and the people who have performed, worked, volunteered and supported the Young Vic over the last 50 years in a video installation projected onto the exterior of our theatre building.

If you have worked or volunteered at the Young Vic over the last 50 years and have a photo of yourself or a group that you would like to submit for inclusion, we would love to hear from you. Any photos considered, will become a part of this historic moment in our theatrical history and feature in our exciting new installation unveiled in September.

Please include the following information along with your photo:

  • A short description of when the photo was taken and who is featured.
  • Images should be sent in as high a resolution as possible.
  • There must be no identifiable references to brands or logos or trademarks in the image (other than the Young Vic) otherwise we will be unable to use the image.
  • Confirm you are the owner of the image and give your consent for it to be used by the Young Vic by including the following wording in your email:

'I confirm I am the owner of this image and give my permission for the Young Vic to include it as part of their video installation project, to mark the theatre’s 50th anniversary.'

The deadline for photo submissions is Sunday 30 August.  Please email your submissions to

Please Note: Whilst we will try to include as many of the images we receive as possible, submitting a photo does not guarantee its inclusion in the final installation project.
