A Statement from the Young Vic - 20 March 2020

Following UK government advice, we have now made the difficult decision to cancel our current production of Nora and postpone our upcoming productions of Orfeus and Conundrum. LIFT Festival has also cancelled their 2020 festival, which includes our co-production of The Second Woman.

We ask that you please bear with our small but brilliant Welcome Team as they deal with a huge number of ticket holders for the above shows.

As a charity, we rely on ticket sales for a substantial portion of our income, and the insecurity ahead is a huge worry for those who work for and with us, as it is for the theatre sector as a whole. Therefore - if you can afford to - please consider donating the price of your ticket, or another amount however large or small, to the Young Vic.

Neighbourhood Theatre (formerly Two Boroughs) at the Young Vic puts on large-scale community productions with people who live in our local area that are produced by a professional creative and production team.

These have ranged from community opera (The Human Comedy), to an outside street carnival production (Festa), to working with local community groups, including people in recovery (The Sound of Yellow), female, unpaid carers (Turning a Little Further) and sex workers (The Brolly Project).

Sometimes we also invite our local community to be part of our main stage productions, such as the choir for The Events and the community chorus for The Trial as well as 2017's The Suppliant Women
