Welfare Justice Workshop

5:00 - 6:30pm

The Clare Theatre

You are invited to a conversation exploring justice and accountability within, against and beyond the welfare state. Welfare has long been weaponised against poor, racialised and disabled people. What does justice feel and look like in this context? How do our actions foster care, community, justice and freedom?

Facilitated by Healing Justice Ldn, this honest and insightful workshop is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about understanding activism and welfare justice. Led by China Mills - Deaths by Welfare Project, Imogen Day - whose sister, Philippa, took her own life in 2019 after her disability benefits were stopped, and Tumu Johnson, co-director at the feminist disabled women’s collective, Sisters of Frida.

This is a free, ticketed event. Please book your space through the book now button. A BSL interpreter will be present at the event.
