‘Expect a hit, a very palpable hit’ – The Times  

The highly-anticipated production of Shakespeare’s great tragedy, with Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife, The Good Fight) making her YV debut as a new kind of Hamlet. Jumbo reunites with her long-time collaborator, director  Greg  Hersov, to bring us this tale of power, politics and desire.  

Show Warnings

This show contains themes of death and bereavement, as well as acts of violence, self-harm and death on stage. There are references of suicide, drug use, and mental illness. The show features the sound effects of guns firing and use of weapons. There will be infrequent loud music and haze.

  • I booked for Hamlet last year, and I can’t make the new Hamlet date I've been sent

    If you booked for Hamlet last year and are unable to attend your new date, please let us know by emailing the Box Office at boxoffice@youngvic.org at least 48 hours before the performance. Our Box Office will be able to help you with a credit voucher (valid for 6 months from the issue date), an exchange or donating the value of your tickets.

  • I haven’t received an email or letter with a new Hamlet date

    If you have not received an email or letter stating your new Hamlet date, it could have landed in your junk folder. If you can’t find it, please let us know by contacting the Box Office team at boxoffice@youngvic.org.

  • Where is my ticket?

    Your e-ticket will be sent via email prior to the performance. Your ticket will have your entry time and entry door on it. You can print it out or save the environment and just show an usher your ticket on your phone.

  • Will this production be socially distanced?
