A rehearsed reading of
Seven Eleven
Flipping the Script, A Taking Part project from the Young Vic, KPPL Productions and Untold Creative Training
Set within the confines of HMP Upon the River, a young offenders' prison, Seven Eleven delves into the unspoken rules, rivalries, and fragile alliances that shape life behind bars. When Kenny, a new inmate, arrives on the wing, he is immediately introduced to Leon (LZ), a hardened young man who isn’t interested in making friends. Their uneasy dynamic unfolds under Mayor’s watchful eye as he attempts to forge a bond between them before his impending release. But in prison, trust is a dangerous game, and unspoken tensions simmer beneath every interaction.
As the inmates navigate daily life—trading goods, negotiating power struggles, and holding onto fragments of their past—the play explores themes of brotherhood, betrayal, and survival.
