A Statement from the Young Vic - 20 March 2020

Following UK government advice, we have now made the difficult decision to cancel our current production of Nora and postpone our upcoming productions of Orfeus and Conundrum. LIFT Festival has also cancelled their 2020 festival, which includes our co-production of The Second Woman.

We ask that you please bear with our small but brilliant Welcome Team as they deal with a huge number of ticket holders for the above shows.

As a charity, we rely on ticket sales for a substantial portion of our income, and the insecurity ahead is a huge worry for those who work for and with us, as it is for the theatre sector as a whole. Therefore - if you can afford to - please consider donating the price of your ticket, or another amount however large or small, to the Young Vic.

If you live or study in our home boroughs of Lambeth or Southwark, there are lots of opportunities to get involved with the Young Vic.

You don’t have to have had any theatre experience and we run a wide range of free projects and workshops for 14-25 year olds throughout the year including:

  • Free tickets to Young Vic shows
  • Workshops and Holiday projects
  • Specialised projects for groups
  • Backstage Pass
  • Introduction to Producing course
  • Introduction to Directing course
  • Only Young Networking Events

Tickets for Young People

Our ticket scheme provides free tickets for young people who live or study in Lambeth and Southwark.

To find out more email or pop in to the Young Vic’s box office and pick up a red sign up form.

Young Associates

The Young Vic Young Associates will be an integral part of the theatre. Each Young Associate will get an overall understanding of how their chosen department works and will get an opportunity to work on plays, projects and events we produce, learning about how a production comes together, how to manage a venue, raise money, employ the creative teams, manage budgets and work with schools, young people and the local community.

Based on The Cut in Waterloo, we produce new plays, classics, musicals, adaptations of books, short films, digital projects and more. We attract large audiences from many different backgrounds, we have deep connections in our neighbourhood where we provide extensive free activities. For many years the theatre has been synonymous with staging international works created by some of the world’s finest directors, performers and creatives; productions that say much about the world we live in.

We are looking for four 18-25 year olds to join our Taking Part, Production and Front of House departments as part of our Young Associates scheme.

Apply by: 12pm on Tuesday 10 March
